Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has highlighted the demanding nature of working under Graham Potter, the new West Ham United manager. Potter took charge of the club in January following the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui.
Since Potter’s arrival, Kudus has been deployed in multiple positions, including a stint as a false nine in a match against Crystal Palace. Reflecting on the manager’s approach, Kudus acknowledged the high expectations Potter places on the team.
“He [Graham Potter] demands a lot as well. He wants to play, press, try and keep the ball and literally try and win every single game,” Kudus revealed.
Discussing the team’s goals under Potter, he added, “I think the aim of the whole squad is still the same, but it’s just a different way of replicating what he wants on the pitch. We want to win games and get up on the table. The aim and the motivation and the passion is always the same.
“On the pitch, the tactical stuff just changes a little bit, but our mentality, our efforts, our energy are always the same, regardless of whoever is the manager. It’s just, like I said, the way he understands the game changes a little bit, but that’s another aspect of the game.”
Kudus has been a key player for West Ham, delivering impressive performances, including his standout display in the recent away draw against Aston Villa. Under Potter’s guidance, the team has recorded a win, a draw, and a loss in their first three Premier League matches, showing signs of progress.
