Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has urged his players to be more clinical in front of goal despite their hard-fought victory over Eleven Wise in the FA Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors secured a place in the quarter-finals with a narrow 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Elvis Kyei Baffour’s first-half strike proved decisive, setting up a last-eight encounter with True Democracy.
“Defensively we looked very solid, offensively, there is a lot of creativity there, what is left is to put the ball at the back of the net,” said Ogum. “Like you saw today, look at the first half, the first 15 minutes, obvious opportunities we were missing them. What do I think out of the two games we have to improve? I think it’s all about conversion. Once we are able to work on our conversion that will be fine for us.”
Despite the win, Ogum believes his team must be sharper in attack to capitalize on their chances. He emphasized that improving their finishing would make a significant difference in their upcoming matches.
Kotoko will now shift their focus to the Ghana Premier League, where they face a challenging trip to Samreboi to take on FC Samartex.
