Crystal Palace are set to secure the long-term future of Caleb Mawuko Kporha with a new four-year contract, aiming to put an end to speculation surrounding the young defender’s future.
The 18-year-old full-back, who has Ghanaian heritage but was born in Medway, England, has been attracting interest from multiple clubs, particularly with his current deal set to expire this summer. However, Palace are moving quickly to ensure he remains at Selhurst Park.
Breakthrough Season
Kporha made his Premier League debut in November 2023 against Fulham, delivering an impressive performance that caught the attention of manager Oliver Glasner. His rapid development has been closely monitored by sporting director Dougie Freedman, who has played a key role in contract negotiations before his departure from the club on Monday.
On the international front, Kporha’s progress has also been recognized. The teenager recently received his first England U19 call-up, making his debut in a goalless draw against Turkey. Prior to that, he made his full senior debut for Palace in a Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Arsenal.
With this new contract, Palace are looking to fend off external interest and continue Kporha’s development as part of their long-term plans.
