Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum has reaffirmed his team’s determination to win the MTN FA Cup, emphasizing their relentless effort to achieve success.
Following their hard-fought 2-1 quarter-final victory over True Democracy, the Porcupine Warriors are just one game away from a potential shot at the title. Ogum acknowledged the significance of the competition but remains cautiously optimistic.
“The aim of every coach is to win trophies… The aim of every player is to win trophies so that one day you can be remembered for,” he stated.
Kotoko’s next challenge in the FA Cup is a semi-final clash against Berekum Chelsea. However, Ogum insists his squad must stay focused on their Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign before shifting their attention back to the cup competition.
“We’ve not gone to the semis. We are going to play against Berekum Chelsea… We just have to switch our attention to the league and then redirect our attention to the FA Cup when the time is due,” he added.
Kotoko, aiming to lift the FA Cup for the first time in eight years, are also battling for the GPL title, where they currently hold a narrow lead over Bibiani GoldStars. Despite the balancing act, Ogum assured that his team is “working harder and harder” to turn their FA Cup ambitions into reality.
