Swiss-born Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Duah was the match-winner for Ludogorets Razgrad, scoring a late goal to secure a 2-1 home win over Spartak Varna in the Bulgarian First League on Saturday.
The 28-year-old played a key role in the hard-fought victory at the Huvepharma Arena, helping Ludogorets claim all three points in a tense encounter.
Ludogorets took an early lead in the 9th minute through Jakub Piotrowski and held on to their advantage going into the break. However, Spartak Varna hit back in the 76th minute when Dimitar Mitkov curled in a brilliant free-kick to level the score.
Just as the visitors looked set to snatch a point, Duah stepped up with a crucial finish in the 87th minute to restore Ludogorets’ lead and ultimately seal the win. He was substituted in stoppage time, making way for Eric Bille after a solid shift in attack.
Duah has now netted four goals in 20 league appearances this season. Across all competitions, he has contributed nine goals and one assist in 34 matches for the Bulgarian giants.
