Ghanaian international Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer delivered an impressive performance for Hamburger SV in their Bundesliga 2 encounter against Schalke 04 on Saturday.
The Black Stars forward was in the starting lineup and featured for 82 minutes in the entertaining 2-2 draw at the VELTINS-Arena.
Konigsdorffer was instrumental in the match, providing a crucial assist that helped his team secure a point on the road. Despite playing against a Schalke side reduced to 10 men early on, HSV couldn’t clinch all three points.
The hosts were dealt a blow just three minutes into the game when Kenan Karaman received a red card. However, Schalke defied the numerical disadvantage and broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through Ron Schallenberg.
Hamburger SV responded strongly, with Emir Sahiti leveling the score in the 41st minute. Konigsdorffer played a key part in the comeback, assisting Sahiti’s second goal just before the half-hour mark to put HSV ahead.
With a narrow lead heading into the final stages of the game, it looked like Hamburger SV were on course for a win. But in the 81st minute, Moussa Sylla struck for Schalke, equalizing the score and ensuring the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian attacker continues to impress this season, having registered 11 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Hamburger SV.
