Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is reportedly set to hand call-ups to six locally-based players for the upcoming Four-Nation Tournament in England, as part of efforts to integrate standout performers from the Ghana Premier League into the senior national team.

According to multiple media reports, the selected players include Berekum Chelsea playmaker Stephen Amankona, Asante Kotoko duo Kwame Poku and Ntim Manu, Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, and Medeama SC defender Kamaradin Mamudu. These players have been in excellent form this season and are expected to be rewarded with international opportunities.

Their inclusion reflects a renewed commitment by the technical team to recognize and reward top-performing domestic talents, while also using the tournament as a platform to assess potential long-term additions to the national squad.

The Four-Nation Tournament, officially branded “The Best in the West – The Afro Classico Contest,” will feature Ghana, Nigeria, and Caribbean sides Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The competition promises to be a high-profile showcase of African and Caribbean football talent.

The tournament kicks off with a semifinal clash between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, May 27. Ghana will then face arch-rivals Nigeria in a highly anticipated West African showdown on Wednesday, May 28.

Winners of the semifinals will meet in the grand finale on Saturday, May 31, preceded by a third-place match to determine the bronze medalists. The final will decide who lifts the Unity Cup 2025.

The tournament will offer crucial international exposure for the invited players, giving them a chance to cement their place in the Black Stars setup ahead of key fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
