I’m proud to have played 90 matches for Genk – Christopher Bonsu Baah

Ghanaian international Christopher Bonsu Baah has expressed heartfelt appreciation to KRC Genk after finalising his transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.

The 20-year-old winger has signed a four-year contract with the Saudi outfit, which will keep him at the club until 2029. He is set to be officially unveiled on Wednesday, July 9, after completing his medicals and finalising paperwork in the Netherlands.

The deal, reportedly worth over €15 million, ends Bonsu Baah’s impressive two-year spell in Belgium with Genk.

Reflecting on his time at the club, he shared an emotional message with the fans:
“I’m proud to have played 90 matches for this incredible club. I’ve enjoyed every single day, every single minute of it. From today on, I’ll be your biggest fan. Thank you for everything. I’ll definitely be back to cheer you on. Forza Racing!”

Bonsu Baah’s rise to prominence began at Ghanaian third-tier side Shooting Stars, before moving to Norwegian top-flight club Sarpsborg in early 2023. Despite playing just 12 matches in Norway, his talent attracted interest from top clubs across Europe, but Genk won the race to sign him.

During his time in Belgium, the talented winger made 90 appearances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. His consistent performances earned him a call-up to Ghana’s senior national team, where he featured in friendly matches against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago.

Though now embarking on a new chapter in Saudi Arabia, those close to the player suggest a return to European football could still be on the horizon as part of his long-term development plans.
