20-year-old left-back Vernon Addo, who holds both Dutch and Ghanaian roots, has been included in US Lecce’s first-team squad for their 2025 preseason preparations.
Addo, who signed with the Italian side from Jong Volendam in August 2023, has enjoyed a strong debut season in Italy. Playing for Lecce Primavera during the 2024/25 campaign, the young defender made 31 appearances, showcasing consistency and maturity well beyond his age.
His performances did not go unnoticed, particularly in the UEFA Youth League, where he stood out with his solid defending and ability to contribute to attacking plays from the back.
Now promoted to train with Lecce’s senior team, Addo will be aiming to impress head coach Luca Gotti and possibly break into Serie A action. His inclusion highlights the club’s belief in his potential as one of their rising stars.
