Ghanaian teenager Daniel Nunoo has made a major step forward in his football journey, earning a promotion to the senior squad of Austrian top-flight side SK Rapid Wien.
The 18-year-old winger, who began his career at Ghana’s lower-tier club Shooting Stars FC, joined Rapid Wien in September 2024 with the intention of developing within their reserve setup. However, his rapid rise and impressive performances have seen him break into the first team earlier than expected.
Nunoo made his debut for Rapid II in November 2024 during a 2. Liga match against FC Liefering, coming on as a second-half substitute for Jovan Živković in the 60th minute. Since then, his explosive speed, sharp dribbling, and creativity in attack have made a strong impression on the club’s technical team.
Though he primarily plays on the right wing, Nunoo’s versatility allows him to operate on the left flank or as an attacking midfielder. His contract with the Austrian giants runs until June 30, 2026, with the option of a one-year extension.
According to Transfermarkt, Nunoo’s current market value stands at €300,000—a figure expected to grow if he continues his development and impresses in the Austrian Bundesliga.
From humble beginnings in Ghana to the bright lights of European football, Daniel Nunoo’s journey is just beginning, and Rapid Wien fans will be eager to see how far the promising youngster can go.
