Jeffery Schlupp aims to lead Norwich City’s promotion charge

Versatile Ghanaian star Jeffery Schlupp has set his sights on guiding Norwich City back to the English Premier League when the 2025/26 season kicks off.

The 32-year-old joins the Championship club as a free agent after parting ways with Crystal Palace at the end of his contract. He has signed a one-year deal that ties him to the Canaries until the summer of 2026 and will wear the number 27 shirt this season.

Bringing a wealth of top-flight experience, Schlupp is expected to play a key role as Norwich targets a return to England’s top division. “Obviously, we want to have a great campaign, it’s no secret,” he said. “The goal for everyone in this league is probably going to be the same — to make the play-offs and push for promotion. You have to start somewhere. I’m coming into a new environment, so it might take a bit of time to settle in, but I hope to gel with the squad quickly.”

Born in Hamburg to Ghanaian parents, Schlupp moved to England early in life and came through Leicester City’s academy. He made 150 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions and was part of their remarkable Premier League title-winning side in 2015/16 before leaving for Crystal Palace in January 2017.

He spent eight seasons with Palace and had a loan spell at Celtic last season, adding a Scottish Premiership winner’s medal to his honours. Now at Norwich, Schlupp hopes his versatility and experience will help power the Canaries’ push back to the Premier League.
