Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Frimpong Manso, says their 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko in the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament will motivate his players for the rest of the competition.
The match, held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, saw Kotoko take the lead through Albert Amoah. Samuel Attah Kumi equalized with a first-half penalty, but a costly back pass by Henry Ansu led to an own goal, giving GoldStars the win.
Manso emphasized that the main goal was not just the win but observing how his players handle high-pressure games. “It’s been good for motivation because playing a team like Kotoko in your first game puts pressure on us. Once players manage it, they will perform well in the next games,” he said.
GoldStars will next face Hearts of Oak, who beat Heart of Lions 1-0, while Asante Kotoko take on Heart of Lions. Both GoldStars and Kotoko are also preparing for upcoming CAF interclub competitions.
