Ghana international Ernest Nuamah continued his impressive goalscoring form after finding the net in Olympique Lyon’s 2-0 victory over Angers SCO in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.
The 22-year-old winger opened the scoring at the Groupama Stadium in the 38th minute, connecting with a well-timed pass from experienced midfielder Corentin Tolisso to give the hosts a deserved lead.
Nuamah’s strike ensured Lyon went into the half-time break with a 1-0 advantage after dominating proceedings and putting the visitors under pressure.
The Ghanaian attacker has now scored four goals in seven league appearances this season, taking his overall tally to six goals across all competitions.
Lyon continued to push for another goal after the restart, with Nuamah remaining a key attacking threat as the home side sought to put the contest beyond Angers.
Tolisso eventually sealed the victory four minutes from full-time, finding the back of the net to make it 2-0 and secure all three points for Lyon.
Nuamah’s latest performance further highlights his growing importance to the French outfit, with the former FC Nordsjaelland winger establishing himself as an influential figure in the club’s attacking setup.
His impressive form will also be encouraging for Ghana’s Black Stars as the national team continues to monitor the performances of its key players ahead of upcoming international assignments.
