Ghana coach Otto Addo says the Black Stars are fully committed to securing victory against Mali as they prepare for their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
His assurance comes after Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Chad in N’Djamena last week. Jordan Ayew’s 17th-minute strike had given Ghana the lead, but Celestine Ecau equalised late on, forcing the Black Stars to settle for a point.
Speaking ahead of Matchday 8, Addo stressed that the team’s determination remains firm, even with Comoros narrowing the gap after their 2-0 win over the Central African Republic.
“The positive truth is that nothing has changed. Comoros have won their game and closed the gap, but for us, our destiny is still in our own hands,” Addo told the media on Sunday.
“We want to beat Mali at home tomorrow, and that is exactly what we are working towards. We will give everything to win.”
The game kicks off at 19:00 GMT, with Ghana aiming to strengthen their chances of qualifying for a fifth World Cup.
