Leicester City winger Abdul Issahaku Fatawu has emerged as a key transfer target for AFC Bournemouth as the Premier League club prepares for a potential reshuffle in attack ahead of the January transfer window.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, the Cherries are closely monitoring the Ghana international and have identified him as a direct replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who is widely expected to leave the club in the coming weeks.

Semenyo is reportedly on course to complete a high-profile move to Manchester City when the winter market opens on January 1, with the Premier League champions prepared to activate his £65 million release clause.

Bournemouth are believed to have accepted that Semenyo’s departure is imminent and have moved swiftly to line up alternatives, with Fatawu now high on their shortlist due to his pace, creativity and ability to operate across the frontline.

The Leicester City attacker has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season, playing a key role in the Foxes’ promotion push.

Fatawu has enjoyed a productive campaign in England’s second tier, registering four goals and seven assists so far this season, underlining his growing influence and end product in the final third.

Leicester City are understood to be holding out for around £30 million for the 20-year-old winger, should they consider cashing in during the January transfer window.

With Semenyo edging closer to a blockbuster move to Manchester City, Bournemouth’s interest in Fatawu signals their intent to reinvest wisely and maintain attacking depth.

Whether Leicester are willing to part with one of their most influential players mid-season remains to be seen, but Fatawu’s rising stock suggests he could soon be ready for a return to Premier League football.
