Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has acknowledged the quality of Hearts of Oak ahead of this weekend’s Ghana Premier League showdown, while expressing confidence that his side is ready to rise to the occasion in Tarkwa.
The Medeama boss is well aware of the threat posed by the Phobians, particularly given their recent record against his team, but believes home advantage and his squad’s growing momentum could prove decisive.
Tanko: “The Boys Are Ready to Take the Fight”
Speaking to Medeama TV, Tanko described Hearts as one of the strongest sides in the league but insisted his players are prepared for the challenge.
“Hearts is a very strong side. I’m sure the boys are ready to take the fight. We are playing at home and we want to maintain our position at the top. It’s not going to be easy, but we are ready. The boys are ready to deliver,” he said.
Medeama Buoyed by Solid League Form
Medeama head into the fixture in encouraging form, having recorded two wins and three draws in their last five matches, a run that has kept them firmly among the league’s frontrunners and boosted confidence within the camp.
Tanko also recalled last season’s painful defeat to Hearts of Oak in Tarkwa, admitting that result adds extra motivation as his side looks to set the record straight in front of their home supporters.
