Carlos Baleba and coach David Pagou have revealed how disappointment from missing out on the World Cup has been transformed into strong motivation at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking after their latest AFCON outing, Baleba explained that the team’s mindset has been key to their performances. He noted that coach David Pagou constantly encourages the players to enjoy themselves and express happiness on the pitch, a message aimed at helping the young squad play with freedom and confidence.
The midfielder stressed that although the team was hurt by their failure to qualify for the World Cup, that setback has now become fuel for success.
According to him, the players have poured all their frustration, sadness and hunger into the AFCON campaign, using it as a chance to prove themselves on the continental stage.
With joy, belief and togetherness at the heart of their approach, the youthful side continues to show strong character as they chase glory at the tournament.
