Asante Kotoko defensive stalwart Samba O’niel and first-choice goalkeeper Mohammed Camara have yet to attract any official offers, according to their representative Isaac Saha.
Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, Saha, who represents both players through Prosport International, confirmed that there are currently no formal bids on the table for either Samba or Camara.
Despite the lack of interest from potential suitors, Samba has requested a six-month contract extension with the Porcupine Warriors. The 25-year-old centre-back’s move is designed to ensure that the club benefits financially from any future transfer, rather than losing him for free.
“As things stand, there are no bids on the table for either Samba or Mohammed Camara. However, Samba has personally requested a six-month contract extension to allow Asante Kotoko to benefit from any potential transfer,” Saha explained. “He has made it clear that he is not willing to leave the club for free, citing his love for Kotoko and appreciation for what the club has done for him.”
Mohammed Camara, Kotoko’s reliable goalkeeper, is also under observation, but like Samba, he has yet to receive any concrete offers from other clubs.
The situation puts the Porcupine Warriors in a strategic position as they seek to protect their assets during the current transfer window. Samba’s contract extension demonstrates a player who is mindful of the club’s interests while also safeguarding his own career options.
This season, Samba has made 15 Ghana Premier League appearances, scoring twice, while adding four CAF Confederation Cup appearances and a goal as Kotoko bowed out in the second preliminary round. Since joining the club, the centre-back has accumulated 49 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing an assist, cementing his role as a key figure in Kotoko’s defense.
