Danish-Ghanaian midfielder Nikolas Nartey stepped off the bench to become Stuttgart’s hero, smashing an 87th-minute winner in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the MHPArena.
His late strike capped a composed performance in midfield and ensured VfB’s strong Bundesliga run continued on home soil.
Stuttgart had to come from behind after Rasmus Kristensen’s early header for Frankfurt, but Ermedin Demirovic and Deniz Undav turned the game around before half-time. Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab levelled in the 80th minute, seemingly rescuing a point for the visitors, only for Nartey to arrive in the box seven minutes later and guide Josha Vagnoman’s low cross into the net for the decisive goal.
The 25-year-old’s impact reflects his growing role this season. Nartey has made 15 Bundesliga appearances in the 2025/26 campaign, scoring 1 goal and providing 0 assists so far.
Stuttgart’s win keeps momentum high ahead of their next league outing at home to Union Berlin on Sunday, 18 January 2026, again at the MHPArena.
