Laryea Kingston has openly expressed his readiness to take up a coaching role with Ghana’s national teams, including the Black Stars, if the working environment is professional and supportive.
The former Ghana international says his desire to serve the country remains strong, stressing that he would accept any national team coaching opportunity once the structures in place allow him to work effectively and deliver results.
Kingston previously served as head coach of the Black Starlets, taking charge in April 2024 ahead of the WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship hosted in Ghana. Although he guided the team to the semifinals, Ghana lost narrowly to Burkina Faso and failed to reach the final. Shortly after the tournament, he stepped down from the role, pointing to concerns about the overall setup.
Since leaving the Starlets job, Kingston has continued to grow his coaching career outside Ghana. He has gained experience in the United States and currently oversees Uganda’s junior national teams, a position that has strengthened his background in youth development and team management.
With his experience expanding and his commitment to national service still firm, Kingston’s comments indicate a clear openness to returning to the Ghana football setup—provided the right structures, support systems, and professional environment are in place to help him succeed.
