Former Accra Lions FC midfielder Abdul Rashid Abubakar has completed a transfer move to Uzbekistan Premier League side FK Mash’al Mubarek.
The 25-year-old signed a two-year deal to join the club as a free agent in the winter transfer window.
Abubakar, one of the stars in Accra Lions’ debut season in the Ghana Premier League, arrives in Uzbekistan after leaving Kazakhstani side Atyrau.

From the first days I have felt at home – the atmosphere in the team is good, everyone works at a professional level. It is a great honor for me to be part of the Mash’al Mubarak family,” said the midfielder after sealing the deal.
“I really liked the attitude to football, discipline and hard work here. That is why I am adapting quickly and trying to work on myself every day. My main goal is to bring maximum benefit to the team. I want to give my all in every match and achieve high results with Mash’al. To please our fans with victories is my biggest dream.

The highly-rated midfielder previously had spells with FK Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Loznica in Serbia, Bahla in Oman, Spartanii Selemet in Moldova and also Ordabasy in the Kazakh Premier League.
