Emmanuel Addai has revealed his ambition to play for the Black Stars, describing it as his ultimate dream and the pinnacle of his career.
The FK Qarabag forward, who has impressed in Azerbaijan, is yet to receive a call-up from the Black Stars’ technical team despite his standout performances this season.
Addai holds the distinction of being the only Ghanaian to score in the UEFA Champions League this term, helping Qarabag reach the knockout stages before being eliminated by Newcastle United.
Speaking to Tv3, Addai said representing Ghana and winning trophies with the national team would be the greatest achievement of his career.
“No, I haven’t had any contact yet [with the Black Stars],” he told 3Sports. “But I believe they’ve seen my performances. Everything happens in God’s time. I’m not in a hurry.”
He added:
“I really want to represent Ghana because I love my country. I grew up watching Ghana lose finals, and I want to help bring joy to my people.”
“I want to be remembered not just for playing abroad but for doing something meaningful for Ghana because I really love Ghana.”
This season, Addai has scored four goals across all competitions for FK Qarabag, further cementing his case as a rising talent deserving of a call-up to the Black Stars.
