Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi has not officially been called up to the Ghana national football team, contrary to earlier media reports.

According to Nhyira FM, the shot-stopper has been named on the standby list for the Black Stars’ upcoming international friendlies in March, meaning he will only join the squad if replacements are required.

Initial reports had suggested that Agbasi had earned his maiden senior national team call-up following a string of strong performances for Hearts of Oak. The latest clarification confirms that he is not part of the main squad for matches against Austria and Germany.

This update corrects earlier announcements that had incorrectly indicated the goalkeeper had secured a place in the primary squad.
