Young German-Ghanaian winger Farid Alfa-Ruprecht scored his first goal for VfL Bochum after coming off the bench in their 2. Bundesliga match against Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The 19-year-old right winger was introduced in the 61st minute and made an immediate impact in attack. He kept pressing forward and finally found the back of the net in the 79th minute to register his first goal since joining Bochum from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Alfa-Ruprecht’s strike came at a difficult moment for his team, but it gave Bochum something to celebrate in an otherwise tough game. His goal served as a consolation as the match ended in a 2-1 defeat in the 2. Bundesliga.
Although the result was not what Bochum wanted, the young winger’s performance was a positive sign. Scoring his first goal for the club will boost his confidence as he continues to adapt to his new team and fight for more playing time in the coming matches.
