10-Man Vision FC hold Asante Kotoko to goalless draw in Week 24 clash

Ten-man Vision FC showed great determination to earn a valuable point after holding Asante Kotoko to a 0-0 draw in the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The match was a tough battle, with both teams fighting hard for important points in Week 24 of the season. Vision FC faced a big challenge when they were reduced to ten men in the 69th minute after Mohammed Awudu received a second yellow card for stopping a dangerous counterattack.

Despite being a player down, Vision FC stayed organised and defended in numbers to protect their result.

Goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe played a major role in keeping Vision FC in the game. He produced several important saves, especially in the first half, denying Kotoko from taking the lead. His performance gave his team confidence as they faced pressure from the home side.

The statistics of the match showed Kotoko’s dominance in possession and attack. The home team controlled about 60 percent of the ball and created more scoring opportunities. They recorded nine shots on target and eight shots off target, while Vision FC managed seven shots on target and three off target despite playing with ten men.

However, Kotoko failed to convert their chances into goals. The attacking players worked hard to break the Vision FC defence, but the visitors remained disciplined and compact at the back. The result will be disappointing for the home side as they continue their push to catch the league leaders.

The draw means Asante Kotoko remain fourth on the league table, trailing the top team by seven points. For Vision FC, the point is very important in their fight to avoid relegation as they move further away from the danger zone.

Both teams will now turn their attention to their next matches as the Ghana Premier League season continues to produce exciting and competitive football.
