Asante Kotoko have reportedly received €500,000 following the permanent transfer of 19-year-old winger Bernard Somuah to Spanish side Celta Vigo.
Somuah initially joined the La Liga outfit on a season-long loan in August 2024, with an option to buy. After impressing during his loan spell, Celta activated the purchase clause, signalling their belief in his long-term potential.
The young Ghanaian has quickly made his mark at the club. Starting with the Juvenil A team, Somuah earned promotion to Celta Fortuna, making his Primera Federación debut against Zamora CF on the opening day of the season. Since then, he has accumulated over 800 minutes of action, scoring five goals and consistently showcasing his pace, direct running, and confidence in one-on-one situations.
One of Somuah’s most memorable moments came in a dramatic comeback against Talavera CF, where he netted a stoppage-time winner to secure all three points for Celta Fortuna. His performances have been crucial in the club’s promotion push, with the reserve team currently second in the table on 48 points.
The €500,000 windfall represents another success for Asante Kotoko S.C. in nurturing talent capable of making an impact on European football, highlighting the club’s growing influence in developing players for the international stage.
