Abdul-Aziz Yakubu played a decisive role as Qingdao West Coast secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Shenzhen Peng City in the Chinese Super League.
The 27-year-old forward lasted the full 90 minutes and proved instrumental in breaking the deadlock in an evenly contested encounter at the Qingdao West Coast University City Stadium.
After a goalless first half where both sides struggled to create clear chances, the breakthrough finally arrived late in the game. In the 82nd minute, Yakubu showed great awareness and composure to set up Davidson, who calmly finished to seal victory for the hosts.
Yakubu, who joined Qingdao West Coast in February 2026 from Rio Ave FC, impressed throughout the match with his strength, movement, and link-up play, constantly troubling the opposition defence.
The assist marks his first direct goal contribution in three league appearances as he continues to adapt to life in China. With a contract running until December 2027, the Ghanaian striker will be eager to build on this performance and establish himself as a key figure for his new side.
