USM Oujda have terminated the contract of Senegalese midfielder Issa Ndiaye following his controversial reaction to the stripping of Senegal’s 2025 AFCON title.
The decision comes in the wake of CAF’s ruling that overturned Senegal’s final victory and awarded Morocco national football team a 3-0 win after citing a breach of regulations linked to a mid-match walkout.
Although the club did not officially state the reason, reports indicate Ndiaye’s remarks mocking the verdict were deemed inappropriate, particularly given the significance of the decision in Morocco. His comments reportedly led to swift disciplinary action, culminating in the termination of his deal.
The development highlights the wider fallout from CAF’s controversial ruling, which continues to stir tensions across African football, extending beyond national teams into club environments.
For USM Oujda, the move signals a strong stance on discipline, while Ndiaye now faces an uncertain future after his sudden exit.
