Otto Addo, head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, has expressed hope that his attacking players will rise to the occasion when the team faces Germany in their next international friendly.
He emphasized the need for a strong response from his side following the heavy 5-1 defeat to Austria, noting that although the result attracted criticism, it also offered valuable lessons for the team ahead of their upcoming test.
Addo suggested that the scoreline against Austria did not fully reflect the flow of the game, explaining that Ghana created enough chances to stay competitive. He pointed out that with better finishing, the outcome could have been much closer, indicating confidence that his strikers can convert opportunities this time around.
He further encouraged his players to remain confident, reminding them of previous occasions where the team overcame difficult moments to bounce back stronger. According to him, those past experiences should serve as motivation as they prepare to face a tough German side.
The coach added that the team has held internal discussions to address their shortcomings and improve their overall performance, with particular focus on being more effective in front of goal.
Ghana will take on Germany at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart, with kickoff scheduled for 6:45pm GMT, as both teams continue their preparations for future competitions.
