Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have arrived in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to begin a three-week residential pre-season training camp as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 football season.
The Tarkwa-based club touched down in the Ivorian capital on Wednesday morning after departing Ghana, with the camp forming a crucial part of their preparations for a demanding campaign ahead.
Medeama will enter the new season with major responsibilities, including defending their Ghana Premier League title and representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
The Mauve and Yellow have once again chosen Côte d’Ivoire as their pre-season base, following a similar programme last year which helped the team prepare for the previous campaign.
Head coach Ibrahim Tanko is expected to use the training camp to fine-tune his tactical plans, improve players’ fitness levels and evaluate his squad ahead of the new season.
The three-week programme will include intensive training sessions and friendly matches designed to test the team’s readiness before the competitive season begins.
With domestic success and continental ambitions on their agenda, Medeama are aiming to build a strong foundation in Abidjan as they prepare for another challenging chapter in the club’s history.
