Alex Scott has thrown his support behind former teammate Antoine Semenyo and Manchester City in the Premier League title race following Bournemouth’s crucial win over Arsenal.
Scott was on target as Bournemouth secured a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium, a result that significantly impacted the title race by giving Manchester City renewed momentum and narrowing the gap at the top.
Speaking after the match, the 22-year-old revealed he had reached out to Semenyo—who recently joined City—and admitted he is rooting for his former teammate to lift the title.
“I texted Antoine Semenyo afterwards; he was happy with us winning,” Scott said. “I’m hoping for Antoine, but Arsenal have been brilliant all year, so whoever wins it will deserve it.”
Scott’s goal proved decisive in shifting the balance in the title race, with City taking full advantage by cruising to a 3-0 victory over Chelsea to further close the gap.
Since his arrival, Semenyo has played a key role in strengthening City’s attacking options, contributing to their strong run of form in the closing stages of the season.
With Arsenal’s form beginning to dip and City gaining momentum, the Premier League title race has intensified, setting up a dramatic finish in the final weeks of the campaign.
