Antoine Semenyo says he has developed a strong appetite for winning silverware after lifting the first major trophy of his career, describing the experience as both surreal and addictive.

The 26-year-old, who joined City in January, has quickly become an important figure in the squad, contributing eight goals in 20 appearances and playing a key role in the team’s improved form during the second half of the season.

His standout moment so far came at Wembley, where City defeated Arsenal to win their ninth League Cup title, with Semenyo experiencing a career milestone as he climbed the steps to collect his first winners’ medal.

Speaking in the Premier League’s Big Interview series, Semenyo admitted the move was driven by his desire to compete for trophies at the highest level.

“It’s a massive club, competing for trophies every year,” he said. “I’ve never been in a team that’s competed and I hadn’t had the feeling of winning trophies before. I want to do that on a consistent basis.”

Reflecting on the emotional Wembley occasion, he added: “I couldn’t believe what was happening after winning the cup final, walking up the steps at Wembley.”

Semenyo also praised the support he has received since joining the club, highlighting the role of the coaching staff and senior players in helping him settle quickly.

“A lot has gone into my start at City,” he said. “The manager has helped me a lot, the assistants and the players have made it easy for me. I’m playing with world class players and they’ve made it easy to sink into the team.”

With City still competing strongly in both the Premier League and FA Cup, Semenyo says the challenge now is to maintain momentum and continue chasing more success as the season progresses.
