Popular Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has made a confident and controversial prediction, insisting that the Ghana national team will go all the way to the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Highlife star believes the Black Stars possess the quality, mentality, and technical strength to overcome the world’s elite and make an unexpected run to the tournament’s final stage.
Expressing strong faith in the squad and its leadership, Kuami Eugene suggested Ghana could eliminate top football nations en route to the final, even admitting he initially hesitated to make his prediction public.
“I didn’t want to say it, but if I say what I’m thinking… finals, we will reach the final. We will beat Portugal, England, France, Spain, Croatia, Argentina, all to reach the final. You will see if it won’t marvel you,” he said.
Ghana have been drawn in Group I for the tournament, where they will face England, Croatia, and Panama in a challenging group stage.
Their campaign will begin on June 17, 2026, against Panama, before a blockbuster clash with England on June 23, and a final group match against Croatia on June 27.
Ahead of the tournament, the Black Stars—coached by Carlos Queiroz—are expected to intensify preparations with international friendlies against Mexico and Wales.
Queiroz is also scheduled to announce his final World Cup squad on June 1, 2026, as Ghana finalise their build-up to the global tournament.
