Accra Hearts of Oak’s push for a strong finish to the season has received a massive psychological boost from an unexpected source. Newly appointed Black Stars goalkeeper’s trainer, Dan Gasper, has firmly backed the Phobians to secure maximum points in their midweek Ghana Premier League (GPL) clash against Karela United.
The Portuguese-American tactician was spotted at the Phobians’ training grounds as part of his official duties to monitor current Black Stars number one shot-stopper, Benjamin Asare.
Gasper, who was highly impressed by the quality and intensity displayed by the Accra giants, didn’t hold back his admiration. While observing Asare and the rest of the squad, the trainer charged the team to embark on a crucial winning run starting this Wednesday.
“Wednesday (against Karela) get three points, and Sunday (against Aduana) do it again, get three points,” Gasper urged the players.
The Matchday 31 encounter is a must-win for the Capital giants. Hearts of Oak are currently in desperate need of points to close the gap on league leaders Medeama SC, who sit comfortably at the top of the table with 56 points and look poised to clinch the ultimate prize.
