Ghanaian attacker Joel Fameyeh made a decisive impact off the bench as Puskás Akadémia FC earned a dramatic 2–2 draw with MTK Budapest in the Hungarian NB I on Friday.
The hosts initially fell behind shortly before the hour mark when Ádin Molnár scored after earlier missing a penalty, giving MTK a 1–0 lead.
Introduced in the 69th minute, Fameyeh wasted little time making his presence felt. He levelled the score in the 79th minute, finishing from close range after excellent work down the flank by Daniel Lukács.
However, the game quickly swung again as Zalán Kerezsi restored MTK’s advantage just three minutes later, punishing Puskás on the counterattack.
Despite falling behind once more, the hosts pushed relentlessly in search of a late response and were rewarded deep into stoppage time. Their pressure paid off in the 96th minute when Lukács converted from the penalty spot to secure a dramatic 2–2 draw.
Fameyeh’s goal further highlighted his importance to the squad in a challenging season, taking his tally to three goals in 22 NB I appearances, with 816 minutes played for Puskás Academy.
