Solomon Agbasi, made his long-awaited Black Stars debut after coming on in the second half to replace his club Hearts of Oak teammate Benjamin Asare as Ghana suffered a 2:0 defeat against Mexico on Saturday morning.
The substitution took place during the second half of the encounter, as the technical team handed Agbasi his first opportunity to feature at that level, rewarding his consistency and development at club level.
Agbasi’s introduction added fresh energy to the team as he stepped into a competitive environment, taking over goalkeeping duties from Asare, who had earlier started the match. Despite the pressure of making a debut, he was composed and eager to make a positive impression.
The moment was significant for the player, as it officially marked his first appearance for the senior National team, Black Stars, highlighting the coaching staff’s trust in his abilities.
For Agbasi, the appearance represents not just a personal achievement but also a stepping stone toward establishing himself as a reliable option within the team’s goalkeeping department going forward.
