Prince Owusu produced a sensational Man of the Match performance in Major League Soccer as he inspired Montreal CF to a thrilling 4-4 draw against DC United at Audi Field.
The German-born Ghanaian forward was directly involved in all four of Montreal’s goals, scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist in a remarkable attacking display that earned his side a valuable point on the road.
Owusu took his season tally to nine goals, adding to his reputation as one of the most dangerous attackers in the league, while also increasing his creative output with six assists so far this campaign.
The 29-year-old former 1860 Munich striker continues to strengthen his case for a potential Black Stars call-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Ghana’s technical team expected to monitor his form closely.
DC United started strongly, racing into a 2-0 lead through Louis Munteanu and Jared Stroud inside the opening half-hour.
Owusu responded just before the break, pulling one back after winning possession from a defender and calmly finishing the move.
After halftime, Tai Baribo restored the hosts’ advantage from the penalty spot, but Owusu struck again with a brilliant left-footed finish following a superb first touch from a Wilkerman Carmona pass.
The hosts thought they had secured control when Lucas Bartlett made it 4-2, but Owusu kept Montreal alive by converting from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit to 4-3.
In the dying moments, he turned provider once more, smartly creating space in the box before setting up Hennadii Synchuk for the dramatic equaliser that sealed an unforgettable 4-4 draw.
