Ghanaian forward Kwaku Karikari has completed a permanent transfer to Serbian SuperLiga club Zeleznicar Pancevo after the club activated a €600,000 deal to sign him from Danish side AC Horsens, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract after spending the last two seasons on loan at the Serbian outfit. His move comes on the back of an impressive 2025/26 season, where he scored nine goals and provided two assists in 28 league appearances.
Karikari played a key role in helping Zeleznicar Pancevo qualify for the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League qualifiers, marking a historic achievement for the club.
Speaking after completing the move, the Ghanaian striker expressed his delight at returning to a club he considers home. He said he feels comfortable at Zeleznicar, adding that the coach, style of play and environment have contributed significantly to his development.
Karikari noted that the club has been instrumental in his career progression and is determined to improve further in the upcoming season. He pledged to bring goals, intensity and help the team secure another European qualification spot.
The former AC Horsens attacker also revealed that he watched the club’s UEFA Conference League qualifying matches against Sporting Braga and was impressed by the team’s improvement compared to last season.
He further praised the club’s supporters for their unwavering backing, stating that their encouragement motivates him to score more goals. The striker has set a personal target of scoring more than 10 goals during the new campaign.
Karikari will continue to play alongside fellow Ghanaians Sumaila Wasiu and Abdul Yusif as Zeleznicar Pancevo aim to build on last season’s success both domestically and in European competition.
The Serbian side will be hoping their record investment proves worthwhile as the Ghanaian forward looks set to establish himself among the league’s top performers.
