Ghanaian forward Kwaku Karikari has completed a permanent transfer to Serbian SuperLiga club Zeleznicar Pancevo after the club activated a €600,000 deal to sign him from Danish side AC Horsens, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract after spending the last two seasons on loan at the Serbian outfit. His move comes on the back of an impressive 2025/26 season, where he scored nine goals and provided two assists in 28 league appearances.
Karikari played a key role in helping Zeleznicar Pancevo qualify for the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League qualifiers, marking a historic achievement for the club.
Speaking after completing the move, the Ghanaian striker expressed his delight at returning to a club he considers home. He said he feels comfortable at Zeleznicar, adding that the coach, style of play and environment have contributed significantly to his development.
After signing a three-year contract, Karikari shared his thoughts for the club’s channels.
“I feel really good and I’m happy to be back in Pančevo. This place feels like home to me, I’m very happy to be here again. I also played here last season, everything at this club suits me – the coach, the way of playing… That’s why I’m here again. To further improve myself” – Kvaku emphasized.
The Ghanaian international went ahead and reflected on his goals.
“The railway worker is very important in my career. Last season I progressed a lot, I hope that will be the case this season too. Or even more. I want to bring intensity, goals, and help this team qualify for Europe again. I watched the matches in the preparations and against Braga. The team was very good, even better than last season. I hope we can achieve great results together”’
He also appreciated the support of the people in Pančevo in his carreer.
“The support of the fans means a lot to me. It motivates me to score as many goals as possible. I hope there will be more than 10 goals this season” Karikari concluded.
