Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Debibi United are closing in on the signing of experienced centre-back Maxwell Agyemang ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club is in advanced negotiations with the former Asante Kotoko, Karela United and Hohoe United defender, with talks progressing positively and a deal expected to be completed soon.
Agyemang is being targeted as part of Debibi United’s plans to strengthen their squad ahead of their maiden campaign in Ghana’s top flight. The club is looking to add experienced players who can provide leadership and stability as they prepare for the challenges of Premier League football.
The centre-back brings valuable knowledge of Ghanaian football, having previously featured for several clubs, including Asante Kotoko, where he gained experience competing under high-pressure conditions.
Known for his defensive awareness, physical strength and ability to organise the backline, Agyemang is expected to add depth and maturity to Debibi United’s defence if the move is completed.
The transfer forms part of Debibi United’s broader recruitment strategy as they build a competitive squad capable of maintaining their Premier League status and making a strong impression in their debut season.
With negotiations at an advanced stage, the former Porcupine Warriors defender could soon become one of Debibi United’s latest additions ahead of the new campaign.
