Black Satellites head coach Maxwell Konadu has confirmed that Ghana’s U-20 national team will undergo major changes following its disappointing early exit from the WAFU B U-20 Championship.
The coach admitted that the Black Satellites travelled to the tournament with the ambition of lifting the trophy but failed to meet expectations. He revealed that the technical team would now focus on rebuilding the squad ahead of next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, insisting that a different team would represent Ghana at the continental competition.
Speaking after the team’s elimination, Konadu said, “We came here to win, but it didn’t work out. We will reorganise ourselves. Definitely, we will not present the same team for the AFCON next year.”
His remarks signal a major rebuilding exercise for the Black Satellites as Ghana seeks to recover from its WAFU B disappointment and assemble a stronger squad capable of competing for honours at the U-20 AFCON.
