Edmund Baidoo will not be joining Club Brugge; RB Salzburg have definitively closed the door on the move, latest report has emerged.
Despite weeks of negotiations and a record-breaking final offer, Club Brugge will not be able to sign Edmund Baidoo. RB Salzburg has made a final decision: the Ghanaian international is declared non-transferable this summer and will continue his development in Austria before a potential move in the summer of 2027.
The Edmund Baidoo saga is now over. Despite Club Brugge’s insistence over the past few weeks, RB Salzburg has decided to keep its Ghanaian winger and no longer wishes to hear talk of a transfer during this summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports Austria, Club Brugge made a final offer in recent hours in the hope of convincing the Austrian club to release their player. However, this offer was not enough to sway the Red Bull-owned club’s position.
The matter even reached the owner of the Red Bull group, who approved the decision to consider Edmund Baidoo non-transferable for the 2026/2027 season. The Ghanaian is an integral part of the sporting project and the management wants to offer him an important role within the first team this season.
According to our information, there is nevertheless an agreement in principle between the different parties: barring any unforeseen circumstances, Baidoo will be allowed to leave RB Salzburg in the summer of 2027, when the club considers that the time is right to consider his transfer.
For Club Brugge, this decision puts an end to a priority transfer target. The Blauw & Zwart are now focusing their efforts on other profiles to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
