Iraqi club Aletsalat SC have completed the signings of Ghanaian duo Seidu Suraj and Kofi Agbesimah as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The two players, who were standout performers in the Ghana Premier League, have already joined their new teammates in training after finalising their moves to Iraq.
Suraj arrives from Dreams FC, where he established himself as an important member of the squad with his energy, creativity and ability to contribute in both defensive and attacking phases of the game.
The versatile midfielder played a key role during Dreams FC’s rise in Ghana football, including their impressive performances in domestic competitions and their historic run in the CAF Confederation Cup, where the club reached the semi-finals.
Before joining Dreams FC, Suraj developed his career within Ghana’s football system and gained experience competing at the highest level of the local game.
His ability to operate in central midfield, provide defensive cover and progress the ball forward made him an attractive option for clubs outside Ghana.
Agbesimah joins Aletsalat SC after an impressive spell with FC Samartex, where he played a major role in the club’s success in the Ghana Premier League.
The commanding centre-back was part of the Samartex squad that won the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title, making history as the club secured its first-ever top-flight championship.
Known for his strength, aerial ability, composure on the ball and leadership qualities, Agbesimah became one of the league’s most reliable defenders during his time with Samartex.
Before his move to Samartex, the defender featured for several Ghanaian clubs, building valuable experience in the domestic league.
The transfer to Iraq represents a new challenge for both players as they look to continue their careers abroad and showcase Ghanaian talent on the international stage.
