Ghana international midfielder Iddrisu Baba is set to join Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade on a free transfer after parting ways with Spanish club UD Almería.
The experienced defensive midfielder is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Black-Whites, bringing an end to his spell in Spanish football and opening a new chapter in his career.
Baba, 30, leaves Almería following a three-year stint with the club, having arrived in 2023 after building a strong reputation in La Liga during his time with Mallorca.
During his spell at Mallorca, the Ghanaian played a key role in helping the club secure promotion to Spain’s top flight and established himself as a dependable figure in the midfield.
Across his time with Mallorca and Almería, Baba made more than 150 La Liga appearances, earning praise for his aggressive tackling, ball-winning ability, physical presence and tactical awareness.
Partizan Belgrade have moved to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season and see Baba’s wealth of experience in one of Europe’s top leagues as a valuable addition to their midfield department.
The move will provide the former Black Stars midfielder with an opportunity to compete for domestic trophies and potentially feature in European competitions with one of Serbia’s most decorated clubs.
Baba’s leadership and experience are expected to be crucial as Partizan aim to challenge for honours both in Serbia and on the continental stage.
