Gideon Kodua emerged as the hero for Luton Town, scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner as his side came from 3–1 down to defeat Reading 4–3 in a thrilling League One encounter.
Kodua was introduced as a substitute and needed only nine minutes on the pitch to make a decisive impact. He scored in the sixth minute of added time to complete Luton’s remarkable comeback.
Reading appeared to be heading for victory after taking a 3–1 lead into the interval, but Luton produced a remarkable second-half response.
Kodua’s winning goal came after his initial effort struck the crossbar. He reacted quickly to the rebound and fired home from close range to send Luton ahead for the first time in the match and secure all three points.
The 21-year-old attacker’s late intervention means he has made an immediate impact at the beginning of the 2026/27 League One campaign, registering one goal in one league appearance.
