Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Boakye is the subject of a reported link between Saint-Etienne and Norwich, with the 25-year-old currently playing in Ligue 2 and the English club competing in the Championship.
Boakye has started both of Saint-Etienne’s league matches this season, recording one assist and featuring for 71% of the available minutes. The attacking midfielder has been involved from the beginning of the campaign as the French side assesses interest from England.
The left-footed player joined Saint-Etienne from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC on 13 July 2024 in a €3m transfer. His current market value is listed at €6m, although no proposed fee has been disclosed in connection with the Norwich link.
Boakye’s contract with Saint-Etienne runs until 30 June 2028, leaving the club under no immediate pressure to sell. He moved to Wolfsberger from Ghanaian side WAFA SC in 2021 before earning a transfer to France three years later.
The reported Norwich interest comes as the Championship side is linked with a move for a player whose early-season involvement has made him a regular part of Saint-Etienne’s midfield. Any transfer would see Boakye leave France for England, but the rumour has not been confirmed and he remains contracted to Saint-Etienne.
