Former Asante Kotoko winger Johnson Owusu Oppong has completed a move to Iraqi lower-division side Hajiawa SC after joining the club as a free agent.
The Ghanaian attacker joins the Iraqi club as he begins a new chapter in his career, with Hajiawa SC competing in the fourth tier of Iraqi football.
Owusu Oppong previously featured for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, where he was regarded as one of the club’s exciting wide players due to his pace, direct running and ability to create attacking opportunities.
During his time with the Porcupine Warriors, the winger made over 30 appearances across competitions, contributing several assists and important performances for the club. He was part of Kotoko’s squad during their domestic campaigns and gained valuable experience playing in front of the club’s passionate supporters at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Before joining Kotoko, Owusu Oppong also featured for clubs in Ghana’s domestic football scene, building a reputation as a hardworking winger capable of operating on both flanks.
His move to Hajiawa SC comes after becoming a free agent, and he will now look to make an impact in Iraq as he continues his professional football journey.
