Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Abdelwadie Mourad is attracting interest from some of Ghana’s leading brands for potential endorsement partnerships following his arrival at the club.
The 22-year-old Moroccan shot-stopper has quickly gained attention with his performances and unique status as the first Moroccan player to represent the two-time African champions.
Mourad began his professional career with Moroccan top-flight club Chabab Mohammedia, where he progressed through the youth ranks before earning promotion to the senior team. He went on to make 14 first-team appearances for the club.
The goalkeeper later moved to Albanian side Basania FC, where he spent half a season before making his way to Ghana to join Asante Kotoko.
Like many young Moroccan goalkeepers, Mourad looks up to Yassine Bounou, the Al Hilal and Morocco international goalkeeper, as his football idol.
His growing popularity, both as a player and a personality, has now placed him on the radar of major Ghanaian brands seeking to associate with one of the most exciting new faces at Asante Kotoko.
