Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana made an encouraging start to life at Sassuolo, producing a composed display during his debut against Bologna in Serie A.
The defensive midfielder came off the bench and played 30 minutes in Sassuolo’s 2-2 draw with Bologna, immediately showing efficiency and confidence in possession.
Sulemana completed an impressive 25 of his 26 passes, recording a 96.2% passing accuracy during his cameo. He also completed his only attempted long ball, demonstrating his ability to switch play and maintain Sassuolo’s possession.
The Ghana international was equally effective in the physical side of the game. He won both his ground and aerial duels, giving Sassuolo an important presence in midfield.
He also recorded one block and won one foul, highlighting his willingness to contribute defensively and compete for possession.
A positive beginning
For a player beginning a new chapter with Sassuolo, the performance offered plenty of encouragement. Sulemana joined the Serie A club on loan from Atalanta until the end of the season, giving him another opportunity to establish himself through regular top-flight football.
