Ghanaian international Kwame Adubofour Poku delivered an outstanding performance to help Queens Park Rangers (QPR) secure an all-important home draw against Preston North End in the English Championship on Saturday.
The 25-year-old attacker started and played the full duration of the match as his outfit settled for a stalemate in the Matchday Eight Championship clash, held at MATRADE Loftus Road.
Kwame Poku played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet as the side staged a strong comeback to secure a point on home turf.
Preston North End wasted no time in opening the scoring, with Johnny Kenny firing home the first goal just one minute into the match. The visitors doubled their lead in the 26th minute after Johnny Kenny grabbed his second goal of the match, as Preston went into the halftime break with the advantage.
Despite being reduced to ten men in the early stages of the match, the home team managed to secure a point. QPR returned from the break strongly, with Kwame Poku scoring in the 66th minute to reduce the deficit before Paul Smyth found the back of the net deep into stoppage time to secure a draw for the hosts.
Kwame Poku, who has one cap for Ghana, has made six appearances in the Championship this season for QPR, scoring one goal in the process.
